Instructor-led LIVE - ONLINE class. Training is Live & Interactive. We use Zoom as our platform. We have it set up so that you are part of the class, can ask questions, and make comments. You can click the following link for a breif overview of joining a Zoom Meeting:  Joining a Meeting From there you can watch a short video about joining a meeting (Safe Steps will send you a meeting invitation one you have registered). Also from that page or from this link you can Join Meeting Test to test your camera, speaker, and microphone.  

You are required to have a camera, speakers, and method of typing. A microphone is helpful if you plan to speak. An MSHA Approved Instructor will provide the training while a proctor will monitor the online attendees and provide support for comments/questions during the day. Go to www.SafeStepsTraining.com for more information concerning the Live - Online MSHA Training. Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Surface New Miner Part 48-B & 46 are both a 24 hour class. Our instructors are MSHA Approved. This class covers MSHA required topics in Metal/Non-metal and is done according to our MSHA Approved Training Plan.  During registration there will be boxes for you to check or answer concerning training plans, ID numbers, and others. These boxes will allow us to know what questions to ask you so that we can work with you individually to ensure you meet MSHA compliance (very important). I will probably also send you another form with additional questions after registration. If together, we see that what you need is not what we offer, we will be happy to undo your registration and it will NOT be considered a cancellation.

One thing to know and understand as a contractor is that New Miner training requires a topic called; Introduction to work environment. The course shall include a visit and tour of the mine, or portions of the mine which are representative of the entire mine. The method of mining or operation utilized shall be observed and explained. Many mines will not let you on their mine without having completed 24 hours of training with an accompaning 5000-23 showing completed New Miner training. We utilize pictures of actual mines and mining procedures during training as the tour (these are not animations of mines). When you go to work is when you will have access to the mine and when you should get a tour as well as the MSHA required Site Specific training also known as Hazard Training. 

This is an Open Enrollment class so we will discuss some things in general terms. An example would be your written Hazard Communication Plan. We will discuss HazCom programs contents and purposes but you will need to go over your companies individual program. 

If you are trained as a “New Miner” by us, you will receive all required training except for Site-specific and Task Training.  MSHA requires these will be provided by your company or the mining company at which you will be working, and may be from a few minutes to several hours in length. Every time you work at a new mine site, even if you have 10 years experience, you will be required to receive Site-specific training and any new task training that may be applicable.

This class is a Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Surface New Miner training class. New Miner Part 48-B & Part 46 classes are both 24 hours. Our instructors are MSHA Approved and as such can teach both Part 46 & 48. This class covers all MSHA required topics under Part 46 & 48-B (except Coal) and that is why we can combine the training. At checkout there will be boxs for you to designate Part 48 or Part 46 and if your company has an MSHA training plan. This will allow us to know what questions to ask you so that we can work with you individually to ensure you meet MSHA compliance (very important). If together, we see that what you need is not what we offer, we will be happy to undo your registration and it will NOT be considered a cancellation.

These boxes will allow us to know what questions to ask you so that we can work with you individually to ensure you meet MSHA compliance (very important). You will probably get another form with a few questions after you register. If together, we see that what you need is not what we offer, we will be happy to undo your registration and it will NOT be considered a cancellation. MSHA Refresher Part 48-B & Part 46 classes are both 8 hours. Our instructors are MSHA Approved and as such can teach both Part 46 & 48. This class covers all MSHA required topics under Part 46 & 48-B (except Coal) and that is why we can combine the training. Part 46 requires a topic called "Changes at the mine" which is not something designated in Part 48. We cover this in all our training as it is important in the prevention of accidents. During registration there will be boxes for you to designate items such as Part 48 or Part 46, if you have an MSHA training plan, and a box asking if you have had New Miner Training. These boxes will allow us to know what questions to ask you so that we can work with you individually to ensure you meet MSHA compliance (very important). If together, we see that what you need is not what we offer, we will be happy to undo your registration and it will NOT be considered a cancellation.

If you are trained as a “Refresher” by us, you will receive all required training except for Site-specific and Task Training.  MSHA requires these will be provided by your company or the mining company at which you will be working, and may be from a few minutes to several hours in length.

If you want to request a class set up for you, do not register on this page. Contact us at rex@safestepstraining.com or call/text (252) 474-4626 to set something up. Email is the BEST contact method for me.

We provide training through the American Heart Association and National Safety Council. If you do not need a Certificate from a National Organization, we can provide the same training but issue a certificate of training from Safe Steps at a lower cost due to not having the costs associated with the national groups

Option # 1 - We can schedule a class at OUR location in Aurora, NC. 

Option # 2 - We can schedule a class at YOUR location

This is for a copy of the Part 48 MSHA 5000-23 form. The sequence of events for this:

  1. You request a copy and pay the fee
  2. We locate you in our records
  3. We will send you a PDF copy via email
  4. If you need a "hard copy" mailed, request one when you continue the registration.

If we can't find a copy but we have enough information to make another one, that is what we will do.

If we can't find a copy and we don't have enough information to make another one, we will refund you the fee.

IMPORTANT - - If you find your copy but we have already completed our end of the work, the fee is non-refundable.

 

This is for a copy of the National Safety Council Certificate. The sequence of events for this:

  1. You request a copy and pay the fee
  2. We locate you in our records
  3. We will send you a PDF copy via email. The emailed copy will have a watermark on the certificate stating VOID. That is only a security feature of the card from the National Safety Council when the certificate is scanned. That is why we will mail a hard copy.
  4. We will mail a hard copy via USPS

If we can't find you in our records, we will refund you the fee.

IMPORTANT - - If you find your copy but we have already Printed your new certificate, the fee is non-refundable.

Payments:
Your privacy is important to us. That is why we use one of the most secure sites to process your payment, PayPal. You DO NOT NEED a PayPal account to pay for the class and there are no extra fees. Just pay with a standard card when prompted if you do not have a PayPal account.

 

If you are uncomfortable with providing a credit card online you can call and arrange payment. Payment MUST be received before class to reserve a seat. Do not send payment without contacting us by email, text, or phone.
