Live Online 24-Hour/3-Day MSHA New Miner- 7:00AM Eastern Time Each Day

This is a LIVE, instructor-led online class — not pre-recorded videos. You will receive a complete 5000-23 form at the end of the course.

Training is conducted in real time using Zoom. You will be part of the class, able to see the instructor, ask questions, participate in discussion, and engage just as you would in a traditional classroom setting. Some sessions may include both in-person and online students.

An MSHA-Approved Instructor delivers the training under our MSHA-Approved Training Plan. A dedicated proctor monitors online attendees throughout the day to assist with questions, interaction, and technical support.

About This Training

This course is a Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Surface New Miner Training class.

Both Part 48-B and Part 46 New Miner programs require 24 hours of training. Our instructors are MSHA-Approved and authorized to teach under both Part 46 and Part 48-B. Because the required topics under these two programs overlap, we are able to provide combined training that satisfies the requirements for either regulation.

This class covers all MSHA-required topics and is delivered under our part 48-B MSHA-Approved Training Plan. For part 46, we must have a copy of your company's part 46 training plan.

Once you complete this course, you will receive a complete 5000-23 form and be ready to go on-site.

Technology & Attendance Requirements

To receive a completed 5000-23 form:

  • Camera must remain ON during instruction (except scheduled breaks and lunch), and we must clearly see your full face at all times (no ceiling/floor views or obstructed cameras).

  • You may NOT operate a vehicle during training.

  • Full attendance is required. Missed time must be made up.

MSHA training is federally regulated and time-based. Active participation is required. Failure to comply may result in removal from class and/or an incomplete 5000-23 form.

Participants must have:

  • A working camera

  • Speakers or audio output

  • A method of typing or a microphone for communication

You may stand or move around as needed, as long as you remain visible and attentive.

Registration & Compliance

During registration, you will answer questions regarding training plans, ID numbers, eligibility to take a refresher, and other compliance-related information. These questions allow us to confirm that you meet MSHA requirements.

You may receive a short follow-up form after registering so we can review your information individually and ensure compliance.

If we determine that the training you need differs from what is offered, we will assist you and cancel your registration without penalty. It will not be treated as a cancellation.
